Ostara Ritual Circle

Discover the Magick of the season in the pagan sabbat of Ostara, also known as the Spring Equinox with Wiccan author Jamie Della. We will cast a full circle, create an herbal oil, plant seeds, and enjoy "cakes and ale" with awakened creativity.

From my upcoming book, A Box of Magick:
A Guided Journey to Crafting a Magickal Life through Witchcraft, Ritual Herbalism and Spellcrafting.

On the Spring Equinox or Ostara, which falls between March 20 and 22, night and day last equally as long. Equinox means equal night. This celebration of rebirth and growth is preceded by brushing off the winter with spring cleaning that revives enthusiasm and hope in the new life that’s blooming everywhere. Ostara is a time of year to give birth to new ideas, turn over a new leaf, believe in your abundance, and allow for emotions to come and go like spring rain. Ostara rejoices in the beauty of our unique selves blooming and playing with impish delight.

Altar suggestions include representations of spring and new life (such as rabbits, birds, baby animals, or flowers), images of fertility (such as eggs, nuts, or seeds), or flowers of jasmine, lily, and rose.

In this season, create an altar and chant this song in honor of Ostara, the German goddess of rebirth, dawn, growth all things green, fertility, and abundance.

“Ring bell, sing bell, Spring bell chime!

Ring out the joy of happy time.

Winter is over; the darkness is through!

Ring out, sing out, the earth is born anew!”

Those women who attended the Imbolc ceremony will be able to decant their infused oil during the magickal work within the sacred ceremonial circle. Each person will get 8-ounces of oil and farm direct herbs, such as cannabis or calendula, to infuse.
The circle plus supplies is $40 per person
