Daughters of Santa Ana
After 50 years of listening to family ghosts, 28 years of researching, 25 years of on-and-off writing, and a kick in the butt from my second Saturn’s Return, my historical novel is finished.
Daughters of Santa Ana is a sweeping family saga of love, loss, and magical realism, about the events that shaped Los Angeles and California during and after the American invasion, blending fact and mysticism with the enduring power of the female spirit.
There will be revisions. The work is not done, but the book is out there, in the inboxes of literary agents. The candles are lit. The angels have been summoned. Offerings down. Prayers up.
Meanwhile, this Capricorn Woman is building awareness and hunger for Mexican Californio stories. I will perform storytelling vignettes from historical events in the book throughout Orange County. Please check out my events page for the latest happenings.
