Root Down Writing Club

Do you have a writing project that you are working on? I do. Are you ready to be supported by other writers? I am. Are you ready to meet once a month with other writers to improve your craft, book idea, poems, songs, the swirling of words? Let’s meet on the Third Thursdays in September, October and November at Root Down Community Hub. We can call ourselves the Root Down Writing Club. Let’s inspire each other, share our work, hone our writing skills, and be brave together.

We are surrounded by beauty and inspiration in the Eastern Sierra, let’s honor it with our words and sharing. I’ll start. I am writing my first adult novel and am plagued by critical thoughts, supported by enthusiastic cheerleaders for my historical novel, and in need of writing buddies to help me find the middle ground and just keep writing. My book is The Last Daughters of the Don. is a historical fiction/magical realism novel based on the imagined response of my fourth grandmother, Maria Espiritu del Santos Peralta, to the American invasion of California in 1846. What’s your writing project?

September 19, 6:30-8pm
