The Book of Spells is on Sale!

My first book, The Wicca Cookbook, was released on September 27, 2000. It is the most incredible feeling to hold a book that you grew inside the cauldron of your soul and spirit. I wrote eight books from 1999-2009 and then took a decade off of writing books to raise my beautiful sons. And now, I'm holding onto my Ninth Book!

The Book of Spells: The Magick of Witchcraft

There was five rounds of edits to update The Book of Spells, which included cutting 30 spells that no long empowered the Witch today, adding 8 spells from the wisdom, joy and pain that I have experienced in the last 18 years. Plus new information on herbs, tarot, crystals, moon magick, and the different Paths within the Craft (edited my experts in their respective fields). In the last round of design, we all missed the fact that the magickal information for the West and the South were inadvertently flipped. Sigh.

Vicki Noble suggested this is my Spirit Hole that indigenous women leave in their weavings. My guess is through some thread, we are all indigenous to some place where the women were weavers. And books are like weavings, where we braid together strands of insight and dreams. My Aunt Elaine reminds me that this "hole" allows The Book of Spells to be a living creation, not static, but evolving and connecting to the next work of art.

Taken on a book tour during Biz Baz in Salem in 2005. Pictured left to right is Aunt Elaine, Mom Cathi and me! We stayed at the Hawthorn Hotel and had a bewitching time!

It is my hope that baby witches read this blog or get a bookmarker that I will bring to all my book signing events or go to my new Teaching page on my website that explains the Four Directions with the help from Amy Brown artwork, used with permission by the artist. A little gold marker on page 73 makes the mistake easy to remedy. This is a lesson in imperfection, letting go, and trusting. I hope that you join me at one of my events and come get yourself a signed copy of The Book of Spells. Please enjoy the description of my newest book's press release.

“Witches have long been feared, obscured, or simply misunderstood. Today, witchcraft is reemerging in popular culture as a tool for empowerment, healing, and spiritual strength for dark times. Jamie Della, a magick expert with over twenty years of experience in the healing arts, sets the record straight in her latest book.

The Book of Spells is the ultimate beginner’s guide to healing, manifesting your desires, and diving confidently into the mysteries of magick.

Newly revised and updated, with the help of timeless myths and fables as well as her own personal anecdotes, Jamie gathers over 50 unique spells, each designed to help you uncover your Divine essence. These include rituals and visualizations for releasing negativity, increasing bliss, healing a broken heart, finding your Spirit guides, embarking on the adventure of astral flight, and more. Jamie also provides need-to-know historical information on Sabbats and ancient traditions, Gods and Goddesses as well as tools of the Craft such as herbs, crystals, tarot archetypes, moon phases, and runes.

The Book of Spells is a beautifully gilded compendium that will meet the needs of all beginners, whether it is those in need of self-empowerment through spiritual awakening or those seeking to incorporate magick into their daily life.”

"Number nine, you're so divine. You will make the sun shine. Can you count up to nine?" Just reminds me of Count Von Counts singing 70s style. Love me some Sesame Street.
